The Wolf Prize is presented since 1978 by the Wolf Foundation to living scientists and artists for “achievements in the interest of mankind and friendly relations among peoples ... irrespective of nationality, race, colour, religion, sex or political views”. The Wolf Prize is awarded annually in five fields of science: Agriculture, Chemistry, Mathematics, Medicine and Physics. An Arts Prize is presented since 1981 and rotates between architecture, music, painting and sculpture. The laureates are selected by the committee which is appointed annually and includes three-five most eminent specialists in a relevant field. The President of Israel presents the Wolf Prize at a special ceremony in the Knesset. In 2005 the Wolf Prize in mathematics was presented to an employee of the Institute, Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics
